These ideas were extremely helpful. I have a five year old Tomcat and I’ve recently taken in a six month old red point Siamese. I am continuing to give my tomcat a lot of affection but the new kitten will not leave us alone despite our best efforts to redirect our attention to our tomcat so that he does not feel neglected. I will definitely be taking your advice.

I will try the spray. But my stray had five kittens, and my five year old male cat comes in the house, grumbles constanly under his breath, wont let me pick him up, wont come in my room, he used to sleep with me. I have the kittens up for adoption. He has been a little monster. I’m keeping outside most the time, until I get these kittens adopted out. Well, he wants to stay outside, except when he wants to eat. I just hope, he will go back to normal after my kittens are gone/

This was an excellent article! It has given me some hope with my current situation. I have an older male cat that was a stray and ended up being very sick with leukemia, and has been hit by a car (before we had him) and healed all on his own! We’ve babied him so much and nursed him back to health, which resulted in more attention for him! So, he’s used to being the King of the house!
Well, 2 nights ago, I saved a 12 week old kitten from a household that threw him against walls and burnt his little whiskers off, among other things.
Well, the King of the house is not at all happy and whines all the time! =(
I was starting to think that we were going to have to give the poor kitty away, but maybe not now! =))
