My cat has started putting her string in her water dish. Why?

Dear Most Esteemed and Knowledgeable Kitties: I have a 6 year old female, Harley, whose newest favorite toy is the string from an old hooded sweatshirt. She carries it around, and gets great exercise climbing up and down the furniture (and walls) chasing it while my husband and I are pulling it. Recently, she has started to put the string in her water dish. The dish is clean, the string is clean, but Harley works SO hard at getting this string into the water dish, that in itself is quite comical to watch! Do you know of any reason she would do this? On other past occasions, she would put a different (thankfully, smaller) toy…

My cat won’t eat and won’t let me touch his abdomen. What’s going on?

Dear Most Esteemed and Knowledgeable Kitties: My 12-year-old cat won’t or can’t eat. Until two days ago he was always hungry. We noticed a large cat around the house and also a strong smell of urine/spraying in the room where he sleeps — maybe the intruder? Now he is apprehensive about coming in and doesn’t eat anything. He even rejects a saucer of milk. He also gets aggressive when I try to feel his abdomen. I’m taking him to the vet but would like your input all the same. Many thanks in advance. ~Alan

My cat won’t stop meowing, and it’s driving my roommates insane! Help!

Dear Most Esteemed and Knowledgeable Kitties: Help! My cat won’t stop meowing! He is a three-year-old male. Please, please help me! ~Denelle

Did my cat get paralyzed because I pulled his tail?

Dear Most Esteemed and Knowledgeable Kitties: Something happened to my cat. A few weeks ago I had to pull his tail extremely hard because he had hold of my daughter’s pet bird. He had a sore of some type on the base of his tail. I noticed it just a few days ago when he could not climb the bed. I picked him up and he could not move his legs at all. The next couple of days went by, and he just pooed and peed all over himself, unable to move at all. We could not afford a vet, so we had to put him down. I’m really upset about this and would like…
