we are about to have our apartment sprayed with a permethrin-based chemical for bed bugs.

we have a very special kitty who we love very much, but he is co-infected with FIV/FeLV. we do our utmost to protect him from any harmful environmental factors, but in this case we feel we cannot avoid the permethrin.

we are very scared for our boy! we have arranged for him to stay 48 hours at a friend's house.

after that, he will not be allowed into the living room/bedroom for one week.

does this seem like a safe precaution?

please advise!!!

Im sure many people are wondering the answer to this question now, but I am sure the chemicals are harmless to pets.

Glad to hear that you mentioned Integrated Pest Management :) Not many people are familiar with the new approach to pest control. No longer are we "bombing" rooms, we are sport treating and developing custom plans for home owners and property owners to ensure a pest free environment.
