Adding a new cat can be super stressful. I adopted Moo (after he begged and pleaded and made his case on my back porch for 3 weeks until I gave in and brought him in for good), and poor Pimp was sulking and hiding for weeks. I introduced them slowly, but he was still mad at me. Poor thing was 10 and set in his ways! Now they're OK though.
