Our Mama is a very skilled animal communicator and lay behaviorist. By "lay" we mean that she doesn't have a Master's Degree, but she has many years of experience with domestic animals, particularly cats, and has read literally hundreds of books on the subject. Through her experience and understanding of our needs, she can help you to have a better relationship with and understanding of your animal companion. We've allowed Mama to write the rest of this for herself.
I have had successful encounters with animals ranging from cockatiels to oxen. Of course, I specialize in cats and dogs, but I'm willing to communicate with any animal who wants to talk to me.
If you want to know what your animal friend is thinking, animal communication consultations are available by phone. If you live in midcoast or southern Maine, consultations can be done in person for a slight additional cost, if desired. The cost of an animal communication session is $50 per hour.
To schedule an animal communication or behavior consultation, e-mail JaneA and provide a brief description of your animal friend (species, age, sex, neutered or not, color, distinguishing features). If you have a photo, you may attach that to the e-mail as well. Give a very brief description of the issue or problem (i.e., my cat is missing, my dog isn't acting like himself) in your e-mail. You will receive a return e-mail in which the consultation will be scheduled. Before the consultation, please pay the fee by clicking the "Make a Donation" button at left. In the comment space, please give your name so I know who's paid and who hasn't. Our PayPal account is set up to take credit cards as well as standard PayPal transactions.
Reiki is a form of energy healing that can be done hands-on or at a distance. This website gives a good description of what Reiki is. Animals generally are very receptive to Reiki, and dogs in particular seem to respond most obviously to it. Many Reiki practitioners believe cats to be "natural Reiki givers." In my interactions with Sinéad, Siouxsie and Thomas, I've certainly seen proof of this. A cat who is sick or scared will accept Reiki with pleasure, but a cat in generally good health will tolerate about three minutes of it.
Reiki is not a replacement for standard medical care. What Reiki does is restore the spirit and energy body to balance. In my experience, I've seen Reiki provide pain relief, calming, and restoring energy to physically and emotionally exhausted humans and animals. When it is an animal's time to die, whether by natural causes or through euthanasia, Reiki can also help ease an animal's transition out of its body by easing its anxiety about leaving the humans it has bonded with.
I don't believe in charging money for Reiki. I see the Reiki energy as a gift of the universe -- or a gift from God, if that is more in line with your theology. It's all around us, and when I give Reiki, I am merely acting as a channel. The Reiki benefits me as much as it benefits the recipient.
If an animal communicates to me that he or she would accept Reiki, I will gladly offer Reiki as a part of any communication or individualized behavior consultation. If one of your animal friends needs Reiki, please call on me, and I will gladly send some his or her way.
