“A Cat-Shaped Hole in My Heart” Tribute CD: After losing his beloved cat to feline leukemia, Projekt Records founder Sam Rosenthal wanted to do something to help others avoid this fate and raise funds for a no-kill animal shelter in Chicago (then Projekt’s home city). This beautiful album contains songs by a number of gothic, ethereal and darkwave music artists, and Mama says it’s a wonderful way to help you work through the grief of losing a beloved cat friend.

A Hidden Hollow: At this site, you can purchase lovely, custom-made Fantasy Forest cat trees and cat condos. Ranging in size from 4 feet to floor-to-ceiling, these cat trees are designed to look like trees. They come with accessories like customizable name plates, birds, and other great things.  We hope Mama gets us one of these. Or maybe more than one!

Catnip Camera: Beautiful cat photography by the lovely and talented Barbarella. Check it out! She also photographs non-cat things and does web design and graphic design. And her cats, Lugosi, Spider and Janelle are really cool too.

Cat Tales: Songs Of The Feline Persuasion: Folk singer Cindy Mangsen’s “All Cat Songs” CD. Besides Cindy’s own most requested, “Rudy’s Big Adventure,” based on the true story of the cat who got his head stuck in the garbage disposal and lived to bask in fame and glory, there are songs from Cheryl Wheeler, Buddy Mondlock, Les Barker, Nancy White, Grant Livingston, The Berrymans and others. Compass Rose Records, the label that produced the CD, assures us that no cats were injured in the production of this recording.

Charming Creatures Cat-Themed Gifts: Gifts, collectibles, and decor for cat and animal lovers: figurines & ceramics, puzzles, jewelry, coin banks, clocks, music boxes, salt & pepper shakers, teapots…even gifts for guys!

Friendly Felines: Luxurious pet beds, organic cat litter, toys and more. They sell Dudley Edition faux-fur pet beds (round with sides, duvet, and happy sack), as well as aspen wood organic cat litter, cat toys, automatic feeders, water fountains and pet carriers (including a type that has a top-opening option — great for humans whose cats don’t want to get out of the carrier at the V*T).

Monica Richards’ Studio: Monica Richards, half of Mama’s favorite band in the world, Faith & the Muse, is also a very talented writer and artist. At this site, she sells her poetry books and artwork, including some beautiful cat jewelry and images. Check it out!

Spunkyland Studios: “Cat Whisperer” Patrick Katt Dowers is the proprietor of Spunkyland Studios, an art studio devoted to visual depictions of animals, the construction of artistic environments for cats, and the study of cat behavior. The studio itself doubles as an innovative living environment for cats, with ladders, spiral staircases, and catwalks that line the ceilings. Patrick and cat trainer Jason Cole have taught their method of “socializing” cats (teaching cats to be unafraid) to thousands of people in live demonstrations. A socialized cat is unafraid to go out in public or to see a vet. They have built several elaborate and imaginative environments for cats, and have founded the Spunkyland shelter for cats, placing hundreds of homeless cats with great homes.

Tigerpixie Art Studio: The home page of artist Carrie Hawks, who creates beautiful, spiritual and whimsical artwork featuring cats. She has something for every budget, and even if you’re not shopping right now, her site is definitely worth a look!

And, of course, don’t forget the Paws and Effect Boutique at Zazzle!
