Please Help Us Win A Pettie Award!

June 9, 2011 | by The Paws and Effect Gang | contests and giveaways, Paws and Effect news | 5 Comments

The Pettie Awards, which honor the best of the best in the pet blogging world, is now accepting nominations! The great thing is that each Pettie Award winner gets bragging rights and a $500 donation to their favorite rescue. When we win, we plan to give our award(s) money to PurrEver Ranch Sanctuary because we love them!

So, if you love Paws and Effect and you think it would be great to have a part in awarding a donation to a worthy animal rescue group, we hope you’ll take a few minutes to vote for us in one (or more) of the following categories:

  • Best Cat Blog: This is for a blogger who writes mainly about their cat(s) and/or other cat related issues.
  • Best Designed Blog: A pet blog that stands out to you as being well designed and/or includes artwork or photography that makes visiting it a pleasure to the eyes.
  • Best Blog Post: This category recognizes a specific post that you feel had a significant impact on you and/or on the pet blogging community. Please include the name of the blog, the title of the post and a link to the post. (We think any one — or more — of the Dahlia Tells All posts would be a great choice for this category!)
  • And, of course, we’d be totally chuffed if we won the award for Best Overall Pet Blog, your pick for your favorite pet blogger of all.

Voting is easy to do, and we’ll show you how! First, go to the Pettie Awards website, where you’ll see this screen:

Petties Award screen shotWhen you get there, you’ll need to fill in your information, and then in the nominee information slots, fill in the nominee Name as Paws and Effect; the Nominee URL as www.paws-and-effect.com, and the e-mail address as janea@(the website URL you see in the screen above) — if you can’t quite decode what we’ve written here to keep the spammers away from the e-mail, that’s OK; you don’t have to put an e-mail address for the nominee!

Then check one or more of the categories you think we deserve to win!

Then write a sentence of 100 characters or less about why you think we deserve to win.

You’ll need to vote separately for Best Blog Post because you need to put the title of the post and a link to that particular post in the text box. Say, for example, you wanted to vote for the Dahlia Tells All chapter “A Good Day for Dolly,” you’d put the following text in the box:

“A Good Day for Dolly” www.paws-and-effect.com/2010/12/21/dahlia-tells-all-a-good-day-for-dolly/

While we’re here, we’d love it if you can nominate some other great cat-related blogs for other great awards. We’d recommend voting for Covered in Cat Hair as Best Rescue/Cause Blog (a blog that is dedicated to animal welfare and the rescuing of animals in need) and Catladyland as Funniest Blog or Blogger (a pet blogger that regularly makes you laugh out loud).

Please, spread the word, tell all your friends and tell them to tell their friends, and ask them all to nominate Paws and Effect for an awesome Pettie Award!
